YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (YOLO)
By WAKE (POTTER’S CLAY)
We all have one life to live by
And yet we face a thousand ways to die
That is an unbalanced ratio of One to One thousand
And little wonder, the fear of death has taken the life out of thousands
YOLO, constantly reminding us of an end that we do not know
But the worst nightmare is when they use it to justify living their lives like there’s no tomorrow
Because that simply means that you will only get one chance to leave (live)
And once you have left there’s no turning back 360 degrees
But my word, if you do not have a destination for your life yet, it is better you stay. Don’t go, don’t leave (live) not even once
YOLO, constantly misinterpreted as a way of life
But the worst nightmare is that the very things that you are living once for can take away your life
I mean it becomes pointless for you to drive carefully when you expect an accident
And so you’d rather get wasted, intoxicated until you realise you just performed live at a sex event because after all well…
YOLO, consequences of today’s actions will appear tomorrow
And the worst nightmare will be when you actually make it into the next day and start taking actions you never thought of
Because in your whole life you did not look at the long term and now you have a long list of short hurdles that you fell short of
And I’m not even against the phrase YOLO, I’m against the way it is shaping our morals
It is true that in this life we are like foreign squatters and anytime our stay on this land can be over
But YOLO should instead get us to think of our next destination when our stay here is over
So think about this…
Sinners Only Live Once SOLO so to them, death is the end
But if you give your Life to Christ then you can have everlasting Life and death becomes a means to an end
YOLO is good but it only tells half the story it is incomplete
So on top of it I added my own phrase YOLITCh
Your Other Life Is Through Christ
So after You Only Live Once, Your Other Life Is Through Christ
